Zechariah 10 – Part 3 | God’s Promise to Restore His People

Prayer and Reflection
The world faces unimaginable suffering, with recent attacks like the massacre of 70 Christians in Congo by Islamic terrorists. Where is the media outcry? On February 20, 2025, three buses were bombed, reminding us of the troubled times we live in. Yet, God’s promise stands: “I WILL BRING THEM BACK.”

Zechariah 10 – The Promise of Restoration

  1. Jesus – The Chief Cornerstone (Zechariah 10:4-5, 1 Peter 2:4-10)
Zechariah 10 describes Jesus Christ as the cornerstone, the tent peg, and the battle bow. 1 Peter 2 echoes this, showing that Jesus was chosen by God as the cornerstone, despite being rejected by men. As believers, we too are being built into a spiritual house.
  2. Israel’s Physical & Spiritual Restoration
The return of Israel to the land in 1948 partially fulfills prophecy, but the full fulfillment will occur when Israel turns to Jesus in faith. Romans 11:28-29 affirms that God’s calling on Israel remains irrevocable.

Prophecy & The Coming Battles
3. The Coming War – Zechariah 10:5 & Armageddon?
Zechariah 10:5 speaks of a mighty army, which could refer to the final battle of Armageddon. Ezekiel 38 & 39 describes a war where God alone defeats Israel’s enemies. Zechariah 10:5, however, suggests Israel will fight with God’s help, pointing to Armageddon. God will fight for Israel when they call upon Him!

  1. The False Shepherds & Apostasy
Progressive churches embracing Replacement Theology claim God is done with Israel, but Jeremiah 23:1-8 warns against such false shepherds. Hosea 1 speaks of Israel’s rejection and future reconciliation, showing God always provides a way for His people to return.
  2. The Whistle of the Lord – A Call for Both Israel & the Church
Zechariah 10:8 promises God will whistle for His people to return. Just as He calls Israel, He calls the Church, as described in John 10:27: “My sheep hear My voice, and they follow Me.” Are you listening?
  3. The Parable of the Prodigal Son & The Call to Return (Luke 15:11-24)
The Prodigal Son mirrors God’s grace toward Israel and the Church. Despite wandering, the Father welcomes the son back. God waits for all His lost children to return to Him, as Isaiah 1:18-20 shows.
  4. Final Encouragement: NOTHING Can Separate Us from God’s Love (Romans 8:31-39)
Nothing—no tribulation, persecution, or enemy—can separate us from God’s love. Romans 8:37 reminds us we are more than conquerors through Christ who loves us!

Final Thoughts – Will You Answer the Call?
Zechariah 10 offers hope to Israel, just as Luke 15 gives hope to the Church and the world. In chaotic times, God’s promises remain unshaken. Will you listen to His call and follow Him today?
