Our Day of Hope in Truth

Palm Sunday

April 2, 2023

Jerry Mongello shares that today we are celebrating the event of the Triumphal Entry. This event happened over 1,900 years ago. The Triumphal Entry is one of the Biblical truths where our hope is anchored to!!! This event was prophesied hundreds of years before the birth of Jesus and the event. We will look at prophecies and/or foreshadowing in Exodus, Isaiah, Daniel and Zechariah. Remember God tells us the end in the beginning. [Isaiah 46:9-10 NKJV] 9 Remember the former things of old, For I [am] God, and [there is] no other; [I am] God, and [there is] none like Me, 10 Declaring the end from the beginning, And from ancient times [things] that are not [yet] done, Saying, ‘My counsel shall stand, And I will do all My pleasure,’ What I find interesting is that time is similar to today when people deny the truth. Today people want to live according to their own will and false reality. Today people say that truth is relevant, your truth is yours, and my truth is mine. False reality comes about because they deny the only truth, which comes from the word of God.

The Triumphal Entry

21 Now when they drew near to Jerusalem and came to Bethphage, to the Mount of Olives, then Jesus sent two disciples, saying to them, “Go into the village in front of you, and immediately you will find a donkey tied, and a colt with her. Untie them and bring them to me. If anyone says anything to you, you shall say, ‘The Lord needs them,’ and he will send them at once.” This took place to fulfill what was spoken by the prophet, saying,

“Say to the daughter of Zion,
‘Behold, your king is coming to you,
humble, and mounted on a donkey,
on a colt,[a] the foal of a beast of burden.’”

The disciples went and did as Jesus had directed them. They brought the donkey and the colt and put on them their cloaks, and he sat on them. Most of the crowd spread their cloaks on the road, and others cut branches from the trees and spread them on the road. And the crowds that went before him and that followed him were shouting, “Hosanna to the Son of David! Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord! Hosanna in the highest!” 10 And when he entered Jerusalem, the whole city was stirred up, saying, “Who is this?” 11 And the crowds said, “This is the prophet Jesus, from Nazareth of Galilee.”
